The Justice Project sponsors regular meetings, educational evenings and collaborates with other advocacy organizations on various projects. Here are some opportunities to get involved:

The Justice Project is one of many organizations that advocated for legislation to establish a state housing trust fund. The bill unanimously passed through the legislature, and was signed into law by Governor Richardson April 4, 2005. $10 million has been appropriated to fund new development, transitional housing, rehabilitation of older homes, low-interest mortgages, senior housing and weatherization.

The Justice Project is collaborating with the Albuquerque Public Schools to help the nearly 3000 homeless children who attend school in the Metro Albuquerque area. The Title I program will need tutors in the fall at the following locations:
We are currently putting together the “Share Your Talents” directory made up of people willing to offer their service, expertise and counsel as part of our Homeless Family ministry. We are looking for anyone knowledgeable in areas such as medicine, education, social work, or other areas of potential need. We also need volunteers to cook meals, provide food or simply spend time with families.
The Justice Project has established a partnership with Shepherd of the Valley Presbyterian Church under the auspices of the Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN). Volunteers from St. Michael’s join members from Shepherd of the Valley in hosting a homeless family at their site for one week approximately every 2–3 months.
