Presiding Bishop reaches out to bishops attempting to withdraw dioceses

[Episcopal News Service] Presiding Bishop Katharine Jefferts Schori is making public a letter of warning that is being sent to a bishop who is actively seeking to withdraw his diocese from the Episcopal Church, and has stated that letters to other bishops will follow.
"In this way the Presiding Bishop is reaching out with open arms once more to those bishops contemplating realignments for their dioceses, while also warning them of the consequences should they choose to follow through with their proposed actions," said the Rev. Dr. Charles Robertson, Canon to the Presiding Bishop.

Stay calm amid tensions, Bonnie Anderson urges Rio Grande Episcopalians
[ENS, ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico] House of Deputies President Bonnie Anderson told more than 275 people gathered June 30 in the Episcopal Diocese of the Rio Grande to both be prepared and to stay calm amid the current tensions in the diocese, the Episcopal Church and the Anglican Communion.
"Keep your eyes on the prize, which is the reconciliation of the world through Jesus Christ, whom we love more than life itself," Anderson told the meeting at St. Michael and All Angels Episcopal Church. "And keep calm."

During the Education Hour from 10:15 - 11 am. Join those who will be confirmed and received into the Episcopal Church to meet Bishop Gayle Harris, Suffragan Bishop of the Diocese of Massachusetts, as she reflects on the blessings of life in the Episcopal Church and some of her faith journey.
Join us in the Parish Hall for an opportunity to give gifts that make a difference. St. Michael's will host a variety of organizations whose product sales dramatically improve the lives of others.
This Sunday we will enjoy Advent activities for all ages including: Advent wreath making, ornament making, homemade wrapping paper, stories, alternative gift giving, music, and refreshments.
Preparing for Nativity with Mary. This retreat will begin wit morning prayer and include time for reflection and praying the Rosary. Lunch is included with a cost of $10. Register at the Parish Office by December 1st. Call 345-8147 for more information.
December 9, 26, 23 during the Education Hour from 10:15-11 am. Join us for this three-week course focused on incorporating the rich Advent and Christmas traditions of the church year into your home, family, and personal devotional life.
